Grand Tsuru Niseko: A Harmonious Blend of Japanese Elegance and Nature

ABD Architecture LLC Crafts Ski Villas with Cultural Grace

Introducing Grand Tsuru Niseko, a trio of ski villas designed by ABD Architecture LLC, where Japanese tradition meets the serenity of snowy landscapes.

Grand Tsuru Niseko represents a new paradigm in ski villa design, where the elegance of Japanese aesthetics is fused with the functional demands of a luxury winter retreat. The project, named after the Japanese word for crane, symbolizes the lightness and grace that the properties exude. With a design that pays homage to traditional Japanese timber framing, the villas feature extended eaves and a verticality that is both striking and harmonious with the surrounding birch forests.

The uniqueness of Grand Tsuru lies in its thoughtful integration into the Niseko landscape, minutes away from coveted ski slopes. Each 250 m2 property boasts a spacious living area, two bedrooms, and a master bedroom that embraces Japanese design principles. The central staircase acts as a connecting spine, allowing for a fluid skip floor experience that enhances the sense of space and light within.

Revit and Twinmotion software were pivotal in realizing the Grand Tsuru project, enabling the 3D modeling of the entire structure and the production of detailed construction drawings. The technical specifications, including the 230.63 m2 internal floor area, ensure that the villas not only meet but exceed the expectations of luxury property seekers in the region.

ABD Architecture LLC, alongside team members Franck Giral and Pierre Biard, have crafted a property that is not just a residence, but a celebration of cultural grace and natural beauty. The design caters to winter use with features like a snow shedding roof, covered balconies, and a ski room, while also ensuring a warm internal environment through increased insulation and underfloor heating.

The project's design challenges were met with innovative solutions to capture the enchanting forest views while maintaining privacy. The strategic placement of buildings, semi-blind walls, and the careful orientation of windows ensure that each villa enjoys its own secluded panorama. Grand Tsuru Niseko is set to begin construction in May 2024 and will be completed by November 2024, adding to the allure of Hokkaido's winter haven.

In recognition of its design excellence, Grand Tsuru Niseko has been honored with the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design for 2024. This accolade is a testament to ABD Architecture LLC's commitment to innovation, quality, and the seamless integration of architecture into the natural world. Copyrights for this exceptional design are held by ABD Architecture LLC, ensuring that the essence of Grand Tsuru Niseko remains unique and protected.
